So what is it about bonnets that strikes my fancy? Firstly, those vintage vibes and how sweet kids look in them. Second, since most of the nicest bonnets are hand-made by talented artisans, there's a sense of tradition that you don't get with mass-produced clothes.
If you thought that bonnets were for Summer only, guess again! Many makers are creating bonnets for all seasons, including warm and cozy bonnets that can keep your child comfortable on chilly days. Some of these bonnets are sewn out of wool fabric and lined in cotton. Others are knitted out of a variety of merino wool or wool blends. Still others are sewn out of beautiful cotton fabrics and lined in warm fleece. There are classic style rounded bonnets and pixie bonnets, which I can't get enough of!
If you ever shopped on Etsy for hand-made items, you may well know that it's a community full of incredibly talented people. While there are literally hundreds of choices for every taste and budget, I wanted to show you some of my personal favorites.
And remember, when you buy from a small business, an ACTUAL person does a little happy dance!
